Loudoun Mentors was created in summer 2020 by underrepresented graduates of Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) to help create a virtual space for current high school students with marginalized identities. We believe that some of the inequities students of color face are due to a lack of visibility, mentorship, professional development, and community. Since the program has been founded, we have successful completed an inaugural mentorship cohort and graduated 2 senior mentees and helped to guide them to matriculation at their dream universities.
The program is 100% free for LCPS students to participant in, as we are a youth-run organization by the community for the community. Some of our previous events that we have held include LCPS BSU and CAMPUS college panels, scholarship fair, virtual game night, NAACP Loudoun collaborations, and more!
We are welcoming both returning and new mentors and mentees.

Mentee Expectations: Mentees will be paired in groups of two LCPS alumni (mentors) and 1-2 other LCPS students (mentees) with similar interests, identity, or other similarity indicated in your interest form response. Mentees with meet with their mentorship group virtually (via Zoom) on a basis decided by the group (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.). Mentees are expected to attend all scheduled virtual session with their mentors.

NAACP Loudoun Youth Council Membership
Mentor Expectations: Mentors will be paired with a like-minded mentoring partner to help lead their mentees and 2-3 student mentees who are interested in their career field, college major, similar high school sports/hobbies etc. Each mentor partnership will be responsible for meeting virtually (via Zoom) with their group of mentees (2-3 students) on a basis decided by the group (weekly, biweekly, monthly). Mentors are expected to meet with their mentees a minimum of one meeting each month and are committed to their students until the end of the school year in June.
